Shots Fired Incidents in Newark Under Investigation

Newark Police are looking into two shots fired incidents that occurred in the city on Friday,

According to preliminary reports, gunfire rang out in the area of Osborne Terrace and Clinton Avenue just before 6 a.m. sending police to the scene where they searched the area for injured victims.

A thorough canvas of the area had officers locate a car struck by bullets, but there were no injuries reported.

Police are on the search for two suspects who reportedly arrived in the area in a dark colored vehicle then fired off nearly a dozen shots before speeding from the scene.

In an unrelated incident, late-night gunfire that erupted in a Newark South Ward community had police on the scene investigating.

The shooting happened at approximately 10:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Avon Avenue according to police.

Police searched the area and found several shell casings, but there were no injuries reported.

The motive for both shootings remain under investigation.
