There were no injuries reported for a shots fired incident that occurred in Newark's South Ward on Sunday afternoon.
According to preliminary reports, swift police response to reports of shots fired that rang out in the 500 block of Hunterdon Street had officers on the scene at approximately 4:10 p.m. where a search of the area indicated evidence that a shooting occurred but no injured victims reported by police.
A male suspect arrived in the area and fired several rounds before speeding away in the vehicle according to preliminary reports.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
