Detectives in Linden are investigating a shots-fired incident that occurred late Friday night in a residential neighborhood.

According to preliminary information released by police, officers responded to the area of East 12th Street and South Wood Avenue at approximately 11:40 p.m. on June 5 after receiving reports of gunfire.
Investigators said unknown suspects fired multiple rounds in the area.
During the incident, a residence located in the 1200 block of Woodlawn Avenue, several blocks away, was struck by gunfire.
Authorities reported that no injuries were sustained.
Detectives do not believe the shooting was a random act of violence and said there is currently no known threat to the general public.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
