Police are looking into the motive behind a shooting in Newark’s South Ward this evening.
A ShotSpotter device detected several rounds of gunfire near 327 Lyons Avenue around 8 p.m., prompting police to the scene.
Units arrived and found several shell casings, but no victims were found after officers searched the area.
The suspect fled the scene immediately after firing multiple rounds at unknown targets.
The investigation remains active.
