The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office is investigating a shooting that injured a male overnight.
According to preliminary reports, officials at St. Joseph's Hospital contacted police when the victim entered the emergency room, suffering bullet wounds at around midnight.
Police arrived and were told by the victim that the shooting happened in the area of 12th Avenue and East 2nd Street before his arrival at the hospital.
It is not clear if police located a crime scene at that location.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
