Authorities are investigating a shooting incident that sent a person to a Belleville hospital Monday night, with Newark police later identifying a possible crime scene connected to the case.
According to preliminary reports, at approximately 8:45 p.m., officials at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville notified police after an unidentified individual entered the emergency room suffering from a gunshot wound.
Belleville Police responded to the hospital and began an initial investigation.
They later learned that Newark Police had secured a possible crime scene near 929 Franklin Avenue in Newark, believed to be connected to the shooting.
The victim is reportedly in stable condition. No additional injuries were reported, and authorities have not released further information regarding the motive or any suspects involved.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
