Police located a crime scene in the vicinity of Rutgers Avenue and New Street after a male victim was dropped off at a Jersey City Hospital early Saturday morning.
According to preliminary reports, officials at the Jersey City Medical Center contacted police when a male victim who suffered gunshot wounds entered the emergency department shortly before 1:30 a.m.
The victim reported that an unidentified male fired shots in his direction shortly before he arrived at the hospital.
Doctors treated the victim for the injury which was reported to be non-life threatening according to reports.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
There were no arrests reported.
