A shooting that injured a male victim near a housing complex on Saturday has police investigating in Newark.
The shooting happened near the Georgia King Village housing complex on Saturday evening at around 7:30 p.m. when hospital officials from the University Hospital contacted authorities when male victim entered the hospital's emergency department suffering an apparent gunshot injury.
The victim suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the arm according to reports.
Gunfire rang out in the area that's in close proximity to University Hospital sending police to the scene to investigate.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
There were no immediate reports of arrests.
