Authorities in Paterson are trying to ascertain a shooting location that injured a person early Wednesday morning.
In a preliminary investigation, at approximately 1:35 a.m., officials at St. Joseph's Hospital notified police of a person who entered the emergency room suffering bullet wounds.
Police arrived at the hospital and requested additional units for crowd control after the family and friends of the victim arrived at the medical center.
The victim's condition was reported as stable and officers canvassed several locations around the city for a crime scene.
The motive for the shooting has not been released at this time.
