Police checked hospitals in the region for potential victims of a shooting that occurred in Newark's Ironbound section overnight.
Officers recovered shell casings after shooters fired rounds at unknown targets near 205 Pennington Street around 11:30 p.m.
Police say the suspect fled the scene and is at large.
There were no gunshot victims reported in the incident.
