Authorities in Passaic County announced that at approximately 4:00 p.m. on May 18, the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of Spring Street and Hospital Plaza on a report of a shooting.
Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes stated that police were able to locate a potential crime scene in the area but were unable to locate a victim at the time.

According to PCPO officials, on May 19, Paterson Police responded to the Hackensack University Medical Center on a report that a 33-year-old male victim from Paterson was seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound.
Based on the initial investigation, it was determined that the 33-year-old male was shot on May 18 in the area of Spring Street and Hospital Plaza in Paterson, Paterson Police said.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
