Shooting Outside East Orange Night Club Under Investigation

In a second night reported, this week, of gunfire that erupted in East Orange had authorities at a night club in the city early this morning.

According to preliminary reports, several rounds of gunfire erupted in the vicinity of 527 Williams Street at around 1 a.m. sending police to the scene where they searched the area for injured victims and a crime scene.

Officers were able to locate shell casings, but there were no injuries reported.

Police reportedly searched patrons inside the Bogies Lounge before being allowed to leave, but there were no reports that the shooting was connected to the establishment.

In a separate shooting that occurred Thursday evening, gunfire rang out on Norman, and Prospect streets sending nearly a dozen police officers to the scene shortly before 9:50 p.m. where they found evidence that a shooting occurred, but after a search of the area, they did not locate a victim.

The victim arrived at East Orange General Hospital a short time later suffering a gunshot wound to the leg according to reports.

The motive for both shootings remain under investigation.
