Residents say there was a small commotion and then a loud crashing sound at 63 North Munn Ave., which followed by several rounds of bullets in an apartment at that location. Officials say the suspects smashed in the door, then shot one of the victims several times, while the other victim crashed through the glass of the second floor window, hitting the ground to escape the hail of bullets, according to reports. Police flooded the area with units trying to locate the perpetrator(s) responsible for the shooting. Police say one of the suspects was hit by several rounds of bullets, and he was rushed to UMDNJ as a trauma alert. The other victim was taken to East Orange General, where it is unclear if the victim was hit by bullets or injured from the fall from the window.
A crime scene has been set up and police are investigating.
