Shooting in Newark's South Ward Seriously Injures Man

Police are investigating a shooting in the city's South Ward that sent a male victim to the hospital late last night.

Reports of shots fired that rang out in the 30's block of Farley Ave. sent multiple police units to the scene shortly before 11:45 p.m. where cops located a male victim seriously injured from gunfire.

The victim was rushed to University Hospital where he suffered a gunshot wound to the side according to authorities. The extent of the victim's injury was reported to be serious as of 5:35 a.m.

A crime scene was established in the area where authorities searched for evidence and a possible suspect.

There were no arrests reported.
