Shooting in Newark's South Ward Leaves One Injured

A shooting incident in Newark's South Ward on Wednesday night resulted in non-life-threatening injuries for one individual.AdThe incident occurred around 10:55 p.m. near 201 Seymour Avenue, prompting police to request additional lighting in the area as they responded to the gunfire reports.

Upon arrival, officers discovered shell casings at the scene, but initially, no victims were present.

A thorough search of the neighborhood ensued as law enforcement sought to gather more information.

During their investigation, officials at Beth Israel Hospital alerted police authorities that a male victim had arrived at the medical center with bullet wounds.

The motive behind this incident remains under active investigation by Newark Police. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
