Gunfire erupted at a supermarket located in the 900 block of Bergen Street at around 7 p.m. sending a heavy police response to the scene where they located a male victim who was identified by residents in the area as an employee of the supermarket, suffering injury from gunfire.
Police taped off a large area on Bergen Street for several hours while they searched the scene for evidence.
The condition of the victim has not been released.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
In a separate incident that reportedly occurred at around 6:45 p.m., police responded to reports of an armed robbery that took place in the 500 block of Ridgewood Ave. where a male victim around the age of 11-years-old was robbed at gunpoint.
There were no injuries reported in the robbery.
