Shooting in Newark's North Ward Under Investigation After Victim Seeks Hospital Aid

Newark Police are looking into a shooting incident that happened in the North Ward on Sunday evening, leaving one male victim injured.NinosThe sequence of events leading to the investigation began around 7:35 p.m. when officials at Clara Mass Medical Center alerted the police following the arrival of a gunshot victim in their emergency room.

Following the hospital's alert, police officers were guided to 34 Rowland Street, identified as the likely scene of the shooting.

While detectives scoured the area in search of a crime scene, their colleagues took on the task of interrogating the victim to uncover the motive behind the shooting.

No arrests have been made in connection to the incident, which remains under active investigation.

The Newark Police Department is working to piece together the circumstances that led to this violent event in the North Ward.
