Reports of shots fired sent police in Newark to the 70's block of Ave. L where units located a male victim suffering injury fom gunfire.
The victim was rushed to University Hospital where he was alert and conscious. His injuries are not considered life threatening at the present time.
According to the victim, a male suspect exited a vehicle at that location and fired a shot before fleeing the scene towards Wilson Ave at around 7:05 p.m.
Police have a crime scene established and an investigation underway.
