Authorities in Essex County are investigating a shooting that injured a male on the border of Newark and East Orange Wednesday morning.
At approximately 1 a.m., East Orange General Hospital officials notified police when a male victim entered the emergency room suffering a gunshot wound.
The victim told police that the shooting happened on Chelsea Avenue in Newark.
Officers from Newark and East Orange canvassed the neighborhood and found a crime scene near 36 Chelsea Avenue on the East Orange side of the border.
The victim is reportedly in stable condition.
Police reported no arrests of motives for the shooting.
