Shooting In Newark Leaves One Injured, Four Arrested

NJ NEWS WHILE YOU SLEPT IN A MINUTE: 

An overnight shooting in Newark that left a man seriously injured had officers from the NJ State Police arresting 4 suspects after an attempt to make a getaway. 

Police responded to shots fired in the 600 block of South 19th Street around 12:30 a.m. where a male victim was transported via private vehicle to University Hospital a short time after the shooting.   

Police began a search for a black or dark colored SUV that was observed fleeing the scene after reportedly  firing as many as 5 rounds at the scene. 

Officers from the NJ State Polices' Metro Unit stopped the vehicle near Nye Ave. and Fabian Street, arresting four occupants of the vehicle. A firearm was reportedly recovered from the vehicle. 

The shooting victim was expected to survive his injury.
