Shooting Near Jersey City Bar Under Investigation; Fourth Shooting in 24-Hours

Police in Jersey City are investigating the fourth person that has been shot in a 24-hour span in the city.

Reports of shots fired sent police out of a bar located in the 100 block of Martin Luther King Drive (Cherry's Lounge) shortly before midnight where officers arrived to find a male victim suffering a gunshot injury at that location.

EMS rushed the victim, who is reported to be in his early 30's, to Jersey City Medical Center where he was struck to the leg and back according to reports.

Witnesses said that a 5'6"black male who was wearing a hoodie and no facial hairs was last seen running from the area.

The latest shooting marks the 4th person injured by gunfire in the city in less that 24-hours according to authorities.

The motive for the shootings is under investigation.

There have been no arrests reported in either of the shootings.

It is not clear if the incidents are connected.
