Reports of shots fired in the the area of Springfield Ave. and Fairmont Ave. has police on the scene where one person has been transported to University Hospital in an unknown condition at around 9:30 p.m.
The suspect (only described as a black male) reportedly fled the scene in a Dodge Ram reported stolen out of Linden.
That vehicle was located in the city's South Ward a short time ago. The suspect is still on the loose.
Newark Police are investigating.
