Shooting Injures Two in Newark

Police are on the scene of a shooting with at a least two people down in the city's South Ward at this time.

Gunfire rang out inside a building located in the800 block of South 16th Street near Madison Ave. sending several police units to the scene at around 8:25 p.m. where the located the victims.

Both of the victims are reported to males with one suffering non-life threatening injuries to the leg and the second victim is struck in the shoulder according to reports.

EMS is transporting both victims to University Hospital conscious and alert.

Police found as many as five shell casings at the scene and may know who the suspect is.
