A shooting that left one person injured in Jersey City this morning is under investigation.
Police responded to reports of an injured person in the 30's block of Beacon Street at around 7 a.m. when they arrived to find the victim bleeding from an unknown injury to the head at that location.
EMS arrived to the scene a short time later where they transported the victim to Jersey City Medical Center where medical staff confirmed that the victim's life threatening injury was the result of gunfire.
Police set up a crime scene in the area where they searched for shell casings and a possible suspect.
here were no arrests immediately reported.
