EMS rushed a female victim to University Hospital in Newark after a shooting left her seriously injured late last night in the city.
Police responded to reprots for shots fired that rang out in the area of 12th Street and 9th Avenue at around 10 p.m. where arriving officer located a female victim suffering an apparent gunshot wound to the chest according to reports.
Residents on the block who watched as EMS placed the victim inside the ambulance, would only say that the victim is young and lives in the community.
A spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office could not immediately confirm a homicide investigator.
According to sources, the suspects is possibly known to the victim.
