Shooting That Injured Man in Newark has Police Searching for Irvington Man

Police in Newark are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect wanted for a shooting that injured a man in Newark.

Police said ** Dupree Waldron, 25, of Irvington** is wanted in connection with a shooting at in the area of South 7th Street and Central Avenue on Saturday evening.

Police said, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers responded to the location on a call of shots fired where they arrived to find a 23-year old male victim was shot.

The victim was transported to University Hospital and treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound police said.

As part of their investigation, detectives said they have determined that **Dupree Waldron** is a suspect in the shooting.

The investigation is active and ongoing police said.

**These are mere accusations lodged against Waldron. He is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.**
