Police located several shell casings from a shooting in a Newark South Ward neighborhood overnight.
It happened around 1:50 a.m. in the 100 block of Goodwin Avenue.
According to police, a suspect arrived in the area and began to fire shots at unknown targets before fleeing the scene.
Officers received information for a ShotSpotter device that activated in the area.
Police say a search of the neighborhood indicated no victims.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
