Police in Jersey City are investigating the circumstances behind a pedestrian strike that left a bicyclist severely injured in the city during the overnight hours.
According to police, the bicyclist was struck by a truck in the vicinity of Sip Avenue and U.S 1 at approximately 8 p.m. where emergency responders arrived at the scene and found the unidentified victim bleeding heavily from the head.
The victim was transported to an area hospital where doctors began to treat the injury.
The driver of the truck did not suffer any injuries according to police.
