Several Victims Injured After Gunfire Erupts in Jersey City

The Jersey City Police Department is looking into the motive behind a shooting that injured several people in a section of the city overnight. 

A preliminary investigation indicated that at approximately 10:15 p.m., police were dispatched to the vicinity of Myrtle and Ocean avenues to investigate reports of shots fired. 

When officers arrived, they found a person suffering a non-life-threatening gunshot wound in their arm. 

As police taped off the area to begin their investigation, officers found two additional victims near 31 Clerk Avenue suffering bullet wounds. 

Police said all of the injured were rushed to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment. 

The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office was notified, but there were no immediate reports of fatalities as of 4:30 a.m. 

Police reported no arrests in the shootings.
