A pedestrian strike that had a person seriously injured on a NJ highway Monday night has police in Union investigating.
It happened just outside of The Men's Warehouse located on the eastbound side of US-22 -the 2400 block- where police rushed to the scene after they received reports of an unconscious and unresponsive person lying on the highway.
Units arrived at the scene to find the unidentified male suffering massive head injuries after a car struck him at that location.
EMS rushed the victim to an area hospital where doctors began treating critical injuries.
Police temporarily closed the east eastbound lanes for the crash investigation.
There were no other injuries reported.
