The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Garfield Police Department are investigating a shooting that injured a 19-year-old male overnight.
According to authorities, at approximately 3:30 a.m. on January 8th, the Garfield Police Department received several 9-1-1 calls regarding possible shots fired outside of 25 Farnham Avenue in Garfield.
Officials say a 19-year-old male victim was discovered shortly after inside a nearby McDonald’s with a single gunshot wound to the torso. He was subsequently transported to Hackensack University Medical Center where he is in serious but stable condition.
Police took one person into custody at the scene.
The shooting remains under investigation at this time.
