Police in Elizabeth are investigating a shooting that left two people injured in a neighborhood early this morning.
Officers were called to the vicinity of Court and Second streets for reports of shots fired that erupted before 12:15 p.m.
According to reports, units arrived to find the victims suffering serious injuries after being struck by gunfire at that location.
EMS rushed the victims to an area hospital where doctors treated them for multiple gunshot wounds reports said.
A dark colored vehicle occupied by two black males was observed speeding away from the scene immediately after the shooting.
Police have not released a motive for the shooting at this time.
