Officials at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson contacted authorities when a male victim was transported to the hospital's emergency department early this morning injured from gunfire.
The victim was transported by private vehicle to the hospital at around 4:45 a.m. suffering serious injuries according to reports.
Police searched the 200 block of Rosa Parks Boulevard where officers found multiple shell casings at that location.
There were no arrests immediately reported.
In a possible separate incident, cops patrolling the area of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Warren Street reported hearing what appeared to be several gunshots in the area.
Upon their investigation, officers were approached by a male victim who reported to them that a male suspect who was wearing dark clotting an dread locks began to fire shots at him.
The vicim said that the suspect was occupying a dark colored vehicle, possibly a Lincoln Navigator and occupied by several male individuals.
Both shootings are under investigation by Paterson Police.
