Police in Newark are investigating a shooting that sent a man to the hospital overnight in the city.
Multiple gunshots rang out in the vicinity of Brenner and South 10th streets at around midnight sending police to the scene where a canvas of the area had officers locate a male victim struck several times by bullets.
EMS transported the victim to University Hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition according to reports.
Police reportedly found a crime scene in the 20's block of Kent Street where they continued to investigate.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
