A violent overnight in Jersey City has authorities investigating two shootings that injured three people in the city.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the 90's block of Bidwell Avenue at around 2:30 a.m. where arriving officers found one person shot at that location.
The victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center suffering a gunshot wound to the back according to reports.
Police searched the area for as many as three black males who were seen fleeing in the area immediately after the shooting.
The extent of the victim's injuries have not been released.
A short time after the Bidwell Avenue shooting, police were called to the area of West Side Avenue and Fairview Avenue on reports of shots fired with injuries.
Units arrived to the scene to find two people struck by gunfire according to reports.
Both victims were rushed to Jersey City Medical Center suffering gunshot wounds according to reports.
At least one of the victim's injuries is being reported as life threatening.
Police are investigating.
