Separate Newark Shootings Leave Two Injured

A series of gunfire that erupted in separate locations in Newark had one person injured overnight in Newark. 

Police responded to reports of shots fired around 9 p.m. where they began a search for the suspects that reportedly  fled the scene in a dark 4-door vehicle (possibly a Toyota Camry) after firing off several rounds. Police recovered several shell casings at the scene but there was no victim. 

Around 9:20 p.m.,  gunfire rang out in the area of West Market and Littleton Ave. sending police to the scene where one person was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim's injuries was not believed to be life threatening. 

Shortly after the two shootings, a male victim walked into University Hospital suffering a gunshot wound. It is not immediately known  which location the victim was shot at or his current condition. 

Newark Police are investigating.
