Authorities in Jersey City are investigating a double shooting that injured two people in the city overnight.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Bidwell Avenue shortly before 9:30 where arriving units found a male victim suffering a gunshot wound to the leg.
The victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where he is expected to survive his injury.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
A short time later, officials from the Jersey City Medical Center contacted authorities when a male victim entered the hospital injured by gunfire.
Medical staff treated the man for a gunshot wound to the arm.
Police checked a liquor store on Jackson Street after the victim stated that gunfire rang out at that location, striking him shortly before he arrived to the hospital.
The vicim reportedly would not give further details to authorities.
The shooting is under investigation by Jersey City Police.
