Police in Newark are investigating a vehicle-pedestrian strike that injured a senior man in the city's North Ward on Wednesday evening.
At approximately 8:55 p.m., police requested EMS to the area of 7th Avenue and Stone Street when they found an elderly male lying on the ground suffering serious injuries.
Police say the driver of the car stayed at the scene after hitting the man who had entered the street.
The victim was transported to University hospital for treatment in stable condition, according to reports.
Newark Police will handle the investigation.
