According to a statement released by fire officials, at 4:56 pm on Willingboro Emergency Services were dispatched to the single-digit block of Medley Lane for a report of a house fire.
Upon arrival, first responders found an active fire inside of the house.
Officials say during suppression efforts, firefighters located a 79-year-old resident deceased inside of the home.
The fire is being investigated by the Burlington County Fire Marshal's Office, The New Jersey State Division of Fire Safety and the Willingboro Police Department.
The incident is not considered to be suspicious at this time.
