A school bus carrying nearly 30 young students was involved in a collision with an 18-wheel truck in Newark Monday afternoon, but authorities said no injuries were reported.

According to information released by Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, police responded to Chancellor Avenue and Fabyan Place at approximately 2:08 p.m. following reports of a school bus accident.
Officials said the school bus was passing an 18-wheel truck when the truck’s driver-side door suddenly opened and was struck by the bus.
The school bus was carrying 29 students between the ages of 5 and 7, along with six adults.
EMS responded to the scene and evaluated everyone involved. No injuries were reported.
Authorities said both vehicles remained operable and were driven from the scene.
