Robbinsville Public Schools’ Robbinsville Extended Day program concluded its six-week summer session on August 14 after providing students with a combination of academic enrichment, recreation and childcare.

According to information released by Robbinsville Public Schools, the RED summer program operated at Pond Road Middle School from July 6 through August 14 and included Quantum Camp, Discover Kindergarten and extended-care services for families participating in several local summer programs.
One of this year’s additions was a full-day option for Quantum Camp, allowing families to combine the regular 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. program with morning and afternoon care for coverage from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Students participated in a variety of educational and recreational activities, including science programs, LEGO-based learning, NASA and STEM activities, chess, yoga, hockey and soccer.
The district also reported strong participation in Discover Kindergarten, a program designed to introduce incoming kindergarten students to classroom routines and school activities before the start of the academic year. All 127 available seats were filled this summer.
The program was led by certified district faculty and incorporated reading, games, crafts, outdoor activities and themed weekly lessons.
RED officials said the high demand could lead to expanded capacity for the program in summer 2027.
RED Founder and Director Pamela Elmi said the summer initiative is designed to give children opportunities to learn, build confidence and make friends while providing families with dependable childcare.
The program also offered before- and after-care for children attending Robbinsville Township Recreation Camp and other district summer programs.
According to the district, RED maintained a 99% retention rate among its part-time hourly staff this year.
Staff members and security personnel were also scheduled to participate in first aid and operational training on August 20 ahead of the new school year.
