There is an active and ongoing investigation into a bank robbery that occurred in Newark’s East Ward on Saturday afternoon.
According to FBI officials, at approximately noon today, police were called to The Bank of America located in the 70’s block of Adams Street to investigate reports of a bank robbery.
Upon arrival, they were informed that a white male entered the bank and announced a robbery.
FBI officials say the suspect is between the ages of 30-50 years old, average weight with black receding hair.
According to FBI officials, the suspect wore glasses, a black jacket, black hat, black gloves, and dark-colored pants.
Officials say the suspect had on a button-up shirt and carried a white bag when he fled the scene in an unknown direction once he exited the bank.
Officials did not confirm if the suspect possessed a weapon at this time.
