Hudson County authorities are investigating a shots fired incident that ended in injuries on a Jersey City Street overnight.
According to preliminary reports, gunfire rang out in the 300 block of Woodland Avenue at approximately midnight sending police to the scene where they found evidence that a shooting occurred, but no victim was found.
Hospital officials at Jersey City Medical Center contacted police when a male victim entered the hospital suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the hand.
Police were told that an attempted robbery ended in shots fired when the suspect approached with a gun an attempted a robbery. The victim allegedly tried to wrestle the gun away from the suspect when the gun went off.
The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle according to reports.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
