A fast moving garage fire in Oradell claimed the life of the resident, according to initial reports.
Crews were called to a garage fire on the 600 block of Fletcher Avenue took the life of a resident this morning.
Firefighters were dispatched to a single-family home shortly before 10 a.m. for a report of a fast moving fire.
Arriving police officers entered to search the home for occupants but were driven back by the smoke.
Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames before the home sustained heavy damage.
However, an unidentified resident succumbed to injuries sustained in the blaze. Four other residents of the home, escaped unharmed.
New Milford, River Edge and Paramus assisted at the scene.
