Authorities in Millburn are investigating separate thefts that happened at the Short Hills Mall this evening.
According to reports, at around 8:30 p.m. a male suspect committed a "grab and run" theft of a pair of sunglasses that were estimated to cost around $500 from a store that sells designer sunglasses.
The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction. There were no injuries reported.
At around 8:35 p.m., mall security were called to the Nieman-Marcus store on reports of a "grab and run" theft where the suspect entered the store and stole several handbags that were estimated to be about $10,000.
The suspect attempting to flee the scene, struck a Public Safety vehicle where the officer refused medical attention.
There were no physical injuries reported.
