Recycle Coach for Mobile, Android Phones Helps Bloomfield Residents Stay Organized with Curbside Collections

Bloomfield

BLOOMFIELD, NJ -- The Township of Bloomfield has partnered with the Recycle Coach App to help residents reduce their household waste and become better recyclers. The Recycle Coach App, created by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, helps residents stay organized with custom curbside collection and events calendars, collection reminders, a search tool to find local disposal and collection information, and real-time updates on service disruptions. and much more!

City officials say residents can access Recycle Coach from their desktop computers, mobile devices, or through digital assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Home. And the best part: it’s absolutely FREE.

“We are proud of our new partnership with the Recycle Coach App to deliver accurate, easy to find recycling information for our township,” said Mayor Michael Venezia.

“We already issue a monthly email newsletter and the DPW, under the leadership of Recycling Coordinator Louise Palagano, is extremely responsive to residents inquiries and needs. Recycle Coach is yet another tool for residents to take advantage of to make their lives easier.”

The recently updated Bloomfield Township website enables residents to report issues such as potholes or streetlight outage. The Recycle Coach can be viewed online at https://www.bloomfieldtwpnj.com/270/Garbage-Recycling-Schedule.

New Jersey is the first state to purchase a program that centralizes local recycling information at every government level in one app. The app has approximately 700,000 total users, and has had more than 4 million app interactions.
