SOMERVILLE, N.J. – Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson, Chief of County Detectives John W. Fodor, and Raritan Borough Chief of Police Raymond Nolte announced that Ramon Cadiz, 54, formerly of First Avenue, Raritan Borough, New Jersey, was sentenced on November 9, 2018 to two consecutive life terms of imprisonment following his guilty pleas to two (2) counts of first degree murder before the Honorable Robert B. Reed, J.S.C. which were entered on October 3, 2018.
Prosecutor Robertson stated that at approximately 3:15 p.m. on December 11, 2015, the Raritan Borough Police Department responded to First Avenue in the Borough of Raritan regarding concerns for the welfare of the occupants of the residence. Officers entered the residence and proceeded to the second floor master bedroom where they discovered the deceased body of Kimberly Streath, 15. Officers then cleared from the residence and preserved the house as a crime scene, while obtaining a search warrant.
It was determined that Ms. Streath’s death was caused by blunt force trauma.
Prosecutor Robertson stated that detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes and Crime Scene Units responded to the scene to conduct the investigation, in conjunction with the Raritan Borough Police Department.
Detectives also located the deceased body of Kim Streath’s mother, Sandra Guiseppe, age 51, on the first floor of the residence. Ms. Guiseppe’s cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma and ligature strangulation.
Prosecutor Robertson stated that as a result of the investigation, detectives identified defendant Ramon Cadiz as a suspect and that on December 12, 2015, detectives placed Cadiz under arrest without incident. The State was represented in this matter by Somerset County Assistant Prosecutor Frank P. Kolodzieski, II and Somerset County Assistant Prosecutor Anthony J. Parenti, Jr.
