Authorities are investigating a pursuit that ended in a collision in Newark's North Ward on Friday night.
East Orange officials have not returned calls for public information, but according to preliminary reports, the violent shots fired event that took place in East Orange left a person shot in the arm and another person pistol-whipped at approximately 8:38 p.m.
Police reportedly spotted the vehicle with suspects responsible for the incident and began to chase the car into Newark. Police say the driver crashed at the intersection of North 11th and Park Avenue then ran from the scene.
Bloomfield, The Essex County Sherrif's Office, East Orange police departments were all involved in the incident.
No serious injuries resulted from the collision.
