Acting Prosecutor Carolyn Murray and Newark Police Director Samuel DeMaio are reporting that three teenagers were shot last evening.
Newark Police responded to 102 Schley Street, at 10;00 p.m. last evening on a" Shot Fired Call". As the officers arrived they found three teenagers shot.
Zainee Hailey ,13 of 102 Schley Street, Newark
Kasson Mormon, 15 of 29 North 7th. Street, Newark
They were both transported to University Hospital and were pronounced dead shortly after. A third victim 14 year old male (withholding name) was transported to the same hospital and is listed in critical condition .
Zainee is a student at Bragraw Avenue School, Newark.
Kasson is a student at Central high School ,Newark
The third victim is a student at Weequahic High School , Newark.
Acting Prosecutor Carolyn Murray said, the Task Force will work diligently to bring the person or persons responsible for this senseless act to justice.
There is no motive or arrest at this time.
The investigation is being conducted by the Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force including officers from the Newark ,State Police, Sheriffs Office and FBI.
