Police Seek Help in Identifying Newark Burglar

Newark Police Department officers responded to an apartment in the 100th block of Sunset Avenue on a call of a burglary on Sunday, August 20.

According to officials, a victim stated that a neighbor captured a man entering the apartment just after 8 a.m., on video.

The victim also reported that a suitcase allegedly containing clothing, wigs, hair products, and an iPhone Pro Max11 was stolen from a bedroom closet.

Additional bags may have also been stolen from a dresser drawer, including earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and a small amount of cash.

NPD detectives investigating this incident describe the suspect as wearing a green baseball cap, green long-sleeve shirt, green pants, and black shoes with white soles.

Newark Public Safety Department officials request the public’s help in identifying the above-photographed male suspect in connection with this burglary.

They urge anyone with information about the identity of this suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
